Oud Tradition

The resinous wood of kings

Oud Tradition

Oud (agarwood) is the resin-infused wood of an Aquilaria tree infected by the fungus Phialophora parasitica. The tradition of distilling it into dehn al oud and cutting it into chips for bakhoor dates back thousands of years in Cambodia, India, Assam, Burma and Borneo. Today, oud is a global symbol of luxury and the most expensive natural raw material in perfumery.
